You can change the life of a child in two hours per month!
The school readiness program of ABC is a home-based mentoring program designed to prepare children for Kindergarten. Research shows that when a child enters Kindergarten unprepared, the child will usually continue to struggle throughout their entire educational career. We want to prepare many more children for success in Kindergarten and beyond.
The steps for mentoring:
- Learn about ABC
- Apply to be a mentor
- Background and reference checks
- Training (2 hours)
- Match with a child/family
- Make an appointment with the family
- Preview the activity kit
- Monthly visit with a child/family to help them learn and have fun!
- Return the bag to have it refreshed for next month’s appointment!
