Earning a GED is only the beginning!
The purpose of the Career Readiness program is to assist GED recipients in setting and achieving professional goals. Our program facilitators will not only explore possible career choices with students, but will also help them discover what skills they need to succeed in a chosen field. We will ease the transition into a participant’s desired career field by:
- Teaching them employability skills
- Enabling students to examine and set their own personal and work goals, and strategies to obtain their goals
- Building an effective resume and cover letter, and teaching interviewing skills
- Teaching operations and researching skills with a computer
- Helping students prepare for needed entrance exams for various certification programs
- Researching the ever-changing workforce job opportunities
- Researching college and financial aid opportunities
